One of Macquarie's priorities under the Operating Plan is to 'put our students' engagement and success at the forefront of everything we do'. Diversity and inclusion are integral to our ability to achieve this aim. Research has shown the link between inclusive curricula and teaching with student success.
Co-sponsors Office of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) and Workplace Diversity and Inclusion have collaborated to host Inclusive Teaching Forum. It is a free event and open to all Macquarie staff who teach and want to create an inclusive learning experience for all their students.
This forum will provide an immersive and engaging experience for staff, featuring presentations, discussions, and group activities from Macquarie teaching and research colleagues. It aims to raise awareness of the importance of diversity and inclusion in the curriculum and teaching practice, as well as provide a development opportunity for Macquarie staff.
Planned as a 'hybrid event', staff can register to attend face-to-face or participate online. Don’t miss out on being part of this event where you’ll have the opportunity to contribute your ideas, network with your colleagues, and build your capabilities to teach in an inclusive way, that supports our diverse student community.
Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided (following COVID-safe protocols).
Childcare for non-school age children is available and funded by the co-sponsors. Limited spots are available.
