Following this, Dr. Benjamin Brown will discuss scoliosis in adolescents, how common it is and who it affects. Dr Brown will also highlight the benefits of screening and early diagnosis and the role of technology in improving health outcomes for young people. He will explain the current status of scoliosis screening in Australia and provide an update on a research project aimed at testing a novel web-based scoliosis screening tool called the ScoliScreen app.

Mike Swain is an Associate Professor in Chiropractic at Macquarie University, Australia. He serves on the steering group for the Danish-Australian Adolescent Spinal Pain Research Network www.sdu.dk/spinal-pain-in-youth. His research focuses on understanding spinal pain in adolescents and developing prevention and intervention strategies tailored to this age group.
Dr Benjamin Brown is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chiropractic at Macquarie University, Australia. Ben’s area of expertise is scoliosis and related spinal deformity. He is currently working with an industry partner (ScoliCare) to test a novel web-based scoliosis screening tool called the ScoliScreen app.
