Childcare

Attendees at this Inclusive Teaching event can access Macquarie University's casual care program for children aged six weeks to five years (ie, children not attending primary school) and/or vacation care program (for primary school aged children).

What is casual care and vacation care and where is it located?

Waratah Cottage operates casual care and vacation care under the Education and Care Services National Regulations (just like preschools, long day care centres, and before and after school care centres). This means there are caring, qualified, and experienced staff who will ensure that your child is well looked after in a safe and fun environment appropriate to their age. Casual care and vacation care are typically a temporary, one-off booking, perfect for attending events like this one.

Waratah Cottage is located on the grounds of Macquarie University at 11 University Avenue, just behind the Cochlear building.

Casual care is open from 7:45am - 5:15pm.

Vacation care is open from 7.30am - 6.30pm.

Parking is available for drop off and pick up.

What does it cost?

This Inclusive Teaching event is covering the cost of attending Waratah Cottage casual care and vacation care for the day for registered participants of this event.

What is included?

All meals are provided. Depending on the time of attendance, this might include breakfast, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. Dietary requirements can be accommodated and should be discussed with staff at the time of enrolment. Sunscreen, nappies and standard nappy barrier creams (where applicable) are provided.

What to bring

  • Formula, baby feeding bottles, dummies (casual care only, if applicable)
  • Drink bottle (for water)

  • Sun Safe Hat
  • Sheets for cot/sleeping mat (casual care only, if applicable)

All items need to be clearly labelled with the child's name.

How do I find out more and book in?

Limited places are available, so you are encouraged to book in as soon as possible.  To receive priority access when booking in, please ensure you mention to Waratah Cottage staff that you are registered at this event.
