Due to popular demand, you can now pre-book a spot at one of our Physics or Chemistry Magic Shows! 

Please note that each guest may reserve a place for only one show, and bookings are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

A standby line will be open on the night, but entry is not guaranteed without a pre-booking.


Physics Magic Show

Come and see the magic and mystery of physics with our entertaining presenters utilising their powers of physics for good!

The Physics Magic Show is brought to you by the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. Introducing your hosts, Professor David Spence, Professor Helen Pask, Professor David Coutts and Associate Professor James Downes, all of whom are specialists in optics. When they're not playing with high power lasers, you can find them doing some light reading.

Chemistry Magic Show

Come see amazing colour changes, solutions that glow in the dark, liquid nitrogen fountains, and so much more! Be inspired, entertained and informed. We aim to wow you with chemical demonstrations and highlight the underlying chemical and scientific principles behind them.

Presented by staff and students from the School of Natural Sciences.

Destination Moon with Fizzics Education

Discover the science required to reach the Moon and the space programs that made it all happen. 

From trajectories and orbits to rocketry and materials science, we’ll look at current and future space programs, operations and missions.
