Things that go bump in the night: Understanding parasomnias and sleep behaviours

Overview

Parasomnias are unusual sleep behaviours or experiences, such as sleepwalking, and sleep terrors. These events can be frightening for the person affected and their bed partner, yet they are often misunderstood. This presentation will examine parasomnias drawing on clinical and research perspectives. 


Biography

Professor Brendon Yee is a Senior Staff Specialist in respiratory and sleep medicine at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Clinical Professor and Head of the Discipline of Sleep Medicine at the University of Sydney and Honorary Professor at Macquarie Univerity. He is an expert on the diagnosis and treatment of sleep and circadian rhythm disorders.
