Do women sleep differently to men?

  Host: Dr Aurore Perrault

  Thursday 20 March 2025, 12pm – 1pm

Arts Precinct Function Room, C122, 25 Wally’s Walk, Macquarie University

Overview

Sleep changes throughout the lifespan. It is known that as people age there is a decrease in the need for sleep compared earlier in life. However, are there differences in the way men and women sleep across the lifespan?

Research shows there are sex differences in sleep patterns and sleep problems, but the exact causes of these differences are not clear. Dr Aurore Perrault will discuss these findings and how women’s sleep health needs to be explored in more detail.
