Many people with insomnia are prescribed sleep medications to manage the sleep disturbance. Whilst medications can improve sleep, they do not address the underlying causes of insomnia. Evidence has shown Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi) to be effective but the translation into clinical practice has been limited.
This presentation will explore the science behind CBTi and discuss how it can be used in clinical practice.
Professor Delwyn Bartlett is one of Australia’s leading sleep psychologists and insomnia specialist. She is a Conjoint Professor at Macquarie University and coordinates the Sleep Psychology at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research.
Professor Bartlett has extensive experience in the delivery of CBTi and has mentored psychologist and health professional in CBTi.
